What is a step-through electric bike?

A step-through (or step-thru) e-bike has a low or absent top tube, so you step through the frame instead of swinging a leg over the back. It makes mounting, dismounting, and stopping in traffic easier — and it's more accessible across sizes and mobility levels.

Are all Murf electric bikes step-through?

Yes. Every current Murf model — the Gigi, Higgs ST, Higgs Plus, Higgs Cargo, and Alpha ST — is built on a low step-through frame.

Is a step-through frame as sturdy as a regular frame?

Yes. The step-through shape lowers the top tube for easy mounting without giving up carrying capacity — Murf models are rated for total weight capacities from 250 lb up to 440 lb depending on the model, enough for a rider plus cargo or a passenger.
